Oh man, I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it. I've got less than an evening's content left to put into the game and more than an evening to do it with, but can't seem to muster the energy to write a couple dozen textboxes. I should have gone to bed earlier last night.

And that will work with Custom as well as Game? Anyway, I had a village of mice in my game so I decided it'd be a perfect place to put cameos from many of my favorite OHR rodents past. I won't name names, but I will say I decided to re-download Walthros in order to refresh my memory of how one of th...

That sounds like complex layering shenanigans, definitely something beyond my abilities. But I do know it won't involve the Overhead designation on the wallmap.

1: Make the closed door an NPC that only appears while a tag (such as D Door 1 Open) is off 2: Make the button or switch an NPC that has a texbox which flips the tag from off to on 3: Optionally, give that textbox a conditional to go to a different textbox if the tag is already on, either to indicat...

I'd just use an invisible step-on NPC in the same space as the door tile which runs a script that plays the sound effect, giving the NPC the same appearance tags as the door link (if applicable).

PLOT ROCK
I find that amusing for some reason
Glad to see my unsubtle bit of visual humor wasn't left unappreciated. The word "Boulder" takes up too much space to fit on a 20x20 sprite or tile, as I learned in an earlier game I was making with similar labeling.

P-Diddy used to be known as Puff Daddy? You learn something every day (even if it's a subject you don't care about).

Also Rob Zombie doesn't sound at all like a zombie band. This is a good thing.

First ending I got: I went into the north rooms. When I realized that the NPC made different sound effects from being checked multiple times I stood there and held down the spacebar. Second ending I got: The key randomly decides to appear or not and disappear before you can grab it or not whenever y...

I've decided that I would like to be able to edit screens with the in-game editor. Unfortunately, I can't do this request for the same reason I couldn't do it last time when Meowskivich asked for it. Using the built in editor on a 320x200 sprite will have to wait for a sprite editor re-write, and t...

So if it's only a coincidence, is it a contest entry? Dudes in IRC were asking me to join the contest the same day I decided to start making it so I've been thinking about entering. I doubt it'll be scary in any sense beyond "Nathan Karr using surreal imagery and uncensored nudity in a game&qu...
