My fridge actually doesn't have a single magnetic surface on it. No joke.

Surprised to hear the chequer-pattern transparency mentioned; I've only heard complaints about it so far. I'm legitimately surprised by that. I use it often... :/ Actually there are frequently minor bugs which no one seems to report until James or I finally notice it a day or a year later. For exam...

I haven't really seen any real problems in the Windows and Mac nightlies, would anyone actually want to have that slight added layer of stability at the expense of missing out on the new features? I mean, dissolve animations on slices, in-editor Android and Ouya settings, scrolling checkered backgro...

Re: Should I build my game on the stables or the nightlies?

I've been seeing some more games being released for the nightly versions which are somewhat incompatible with the current stable, and with the distribution options able to make full game packs, is there a reason to use the stable builds to make my game? Nothing comes to mind. I think James was work...

There really isn't good or bad sprites. Just put some time and effort into them, and they'll be as good as you can make them!

Oosh. At this point, it seems I've already messed up quite a lot of the code. Perhaps I'll just start from scratch, and thy to make it a bit neater this time.

It had nothing to do with the fact that you're using walktall. In order to avoid letting the player walk into walls you have to check each corner of the hit box for wall collisions. playerx & playery actually point to the upper left corner of the hero sprite hit box. So anything other than the ...

Well, you could always divide the pixel value of whatever tile you're askin about by 20 and pass that number onto ReadPassBlock. I am currently doing this, but since I'm using it with walktall, it's a little bit... iffy. The down/right collisions work fine, but up has a few problems and left is str...

I'm actually working on something similar. I was wondering, is there a version of the "read pass block" function that uses pixel values instead of tiles?

Re: How can I get rid of bias in my code?

Maybe you could make a random generator which decides which checks first?

Your new completely unofficial non-rule-4-approved game idea is now: Octopus In The Kitchen : It Was All A Dream(or was it?) - Chef Jabba The Hutt is stressed-out in the kitchen! All his live octopuses (octopi?) have escaped, and are running amok in his restaurant. The twist? All of this might not ...
