I've got a three-step program for overcoming problems like this . 1) Be a pirate 2) Learn Japanese 3) Join a fan translation team and work to bring great games and happiness to everyone I'm not very far along in this endeavor, but it is a goal I would like to achieve. The Mother 3 Fan Translation p...

My guess is that it will only end up being a few of us hanging out. I've never been to a Con of any sort either (what's MAGCon?), but if it's not expensive it could be fun I guess...? Magfest = "Music and Games" Fest. It's one of the bigger gaming-related cons, focusing on video game rela...

Are we saying that we want to stick to the East Coast? If so, then in about a year I might be able to host a casual one of this. If I get the job I'm looking at, I'd be in northern VA, close enough to DC or Richmond if we want to go hang out in a city. Alternatively, if this is within a day's drive...

Already barked up this tree with Mother 3, sadly. No faith in Nintendo to listen to non-casual fans here. I doubt they'll publish these games no matter how many people protest. Good thing my Wii's modded; I can just play the European versions.

Im out. I wouldn't come because I wouldn't be able to travel. Im only a teenager. Plus... The location of the meetup is something to keep in mind, of course. I believe that most OHR folk are in the southeast and southwest US? Aethereal suggested Athens, GA, and I think that is a great location, but...

That is fine with me, we can call it the OHR PB & J Sandwich for all it matters!

Yeah, travel costs are something important to consider--I was behind Athens because it's right near Atlanta (which is easy to get to) and a more fun place to be than Atlanta generally.

OHR Con

We've discussed the possibility of holding an OHR Con in IRC some over the past few days, sort of jokingly, but I personally think it has potential. I know of other gaming/dev communities that have held them, even at super low budgets, successfully. The last gather the OHR had was "OHR House,&q...

Ah, okay, cool. So jump and charge just suck. I was just afraid I was using them wrong :) Also, I saw this warning in battle #92. Notice: Undefined offset: 12 in /home/mogri/slimesalad.com/fft/battle-functions.php on line 123 I am guessing it might have been related to using a spell on a target who...

I was curious about a few things. One is how Jump is supposed to work. When you jump on a target, are you supposed to return to the location you started? Or are you supposed to end at the location you jumped to? (the former is what happens, which surprised me) That is the correct behavior. Another ...

I noticed in your first post that you were not sure how you were going to implement these. Is that because they require some kind of AI?
Yes

I'm not a good judge of graphics, but it looks passable enough. Like the portraits and the bison.

The setting is interesting, looking forward to playing.
