Yeah, it's good to keep in mind changing the framerate will change everything that moves. Doing it after making cutscenes and animations and stuff can be pretty sucky, considering sometimes you have to recount all the frames for stuff to make it appear slower/faster. One of the first things to notic...

So, when devs were making games for the NES, they would sometimes record actual sound effects and then compress them for use in the game, correct? For certain sounds, I feel like this method would be easier than playing around with an 8-bit sound effect generator until I get what I want. I don't kn...

@Foxley: Honestly, I wasn't expecting much, but this game seems to be coming along fantastically well. At first I wasn't fond of the grid based movement, but with the higher framerate, it's actually not that bad at all. It truly feels more like a feature than a limitation and it no longer bothers me...

I just finished finals week, so I haven't made any progress to show in a week or two. However, I've been fiddling around and keeping the project live. So far I only have movement working, and a few graphics (I like to save graphics until last, because I always end up wanting to change everything.). ...

I like all of the detail. The way the sand waves thin out in some areas, the mushrooms, the log, the mushroom on the log, etc. I appreciate how much attention has to go into making even small additions like that. Every maptile takes time. Those trees are also sculpted really well. Your use of color,...

If we find out that you and I used the exact same sound effects for our games, I'll change mine. Hahaha I'm anticipating that you'll get around to adding sound before I do. I'm in the midst of finals right now. Haven't had a bit of time to work on my addition. I still have a lot of engine work to g...

Wow these sound really good, and useful too! I like all of the little blips and whatnot, that sound like they're made for menu navigation and the likes.

Go to the battle formation editor. Is the selected music the default, or does it say something else? I'm not sure, but in general, defaults sometimes are not implemented for pre-existing data, but will be implemented automatically when creating a new one.

The battle music was great. I like the perspective in battle as well. The graphics all tend to work together quite nicely. Of course, it's not super polished, but that's work saved for later, I guess. I'd love to see some animations, sound effects, music changes based on interactions with the NPCs, ...

Re: My New Game: Mirrored Soul Gaiden

Heya, folks! I'm Mammothstuds. I am among the most insignificant of users on this site, with only 1 game under my belt (and no, Allu doesn't count). So anyway, I've started working on a new game. Its working title is Mirrored Soul Gaiden, although keep in mind this is just a working title. I LOVE t...

Do the heroes using the healing items have a "Hits" stat greater than 0? It might be triggering twice because of that. In that case (and in general for healing attacks) you should go to "Damage Settings" for the attack, then "Damage bitsets" and set the "Ignore att...

I see what you mean. I love and hate how much every single pixel counts. It's simultaneously beautiful and aggravating. I tried to fix the issues. For the left frame, I just added a pixel of blue to the end of the blade, I think that fixes the length issue, although it may make the sword look wonky,...
