Can run script by id work for subscripts in any way? I recall tmc saying they don't, but I can't remember. I'm trying to think of how that could make the scripts I wrote any more efficient, but I think I wrote my way into a corner in that regard :/

I'm working on it right now. I can get you an example script I used, but it might need some tweaking. It's brief, but uses slices to make objects with attributes using slice extra data and private methods using subscripts. Let me know if you have any questions. I can also show you my implementation ...

It looks great! I love that it ties into the game's theme. Reminds me of playing Donkey Kong Country 3, where Kiddy and Dixie Kong show up riding on the Rare logo as it bounces across the screen. Really nice touch :)

Baconlabs Where do I go to find out how to do custom menus like that where I show off a large version of my character? Because that is seriously awesome! Check out the slice collection editor! You can make and position rectangles and text slices and arrange them the way you want. You can use a back...

Honestly, though. Having a backbone of familiarity in the work that you do gives you something to hold onto when other hurdles become overwhelming or confusing. Things don't have to be fantastic to be worth experiencing.

Thank you! I appreciate the very specific commentary! I'll use that to help mix my other music. This is in some ways a first attempt at finalized music. That's why I stuck to mostly just guitar and vocals; it's what I'm comfortable with. Mastering is a rough time, and I didn't want to make it harder...

This is an old thread, but I didn't want to make a new one because I knew this existed. ANYWAY http://onehundredthousand1.bandcamp.com/album/sit-with-me I finished an album! :D It's been "almost done" for way too long now. I'm pulling the plug. It's dead, it's public. It'd bring me great j...

Aside from some really lame spreadsheets, I haven't been able to get anything done the past two weeks or so. Yesterday I sat down and got distracted by writing Object-Oriented plotscripts... Turns out subscripts are pretty useful as fake object methods! It's not totally unrelated from my HotOHR game...

Ah, I've never heard of random movements like that. I made some basic "move towards player" AI in a platformer and it looks wrong when they all behave identically.

It just looks mean when you walk up behind and stab them in the back. That yeti was minding their own business and you spooked em!

So it takes place in hell, eh? Starting off with an engaging setting. Anything else you're willing to disclose about the story?

And as I did all that I just thought... what am I actually gaining from making the spells hurt you? Who actually wants this? That's really insightful. I feel like designers in general need to ask themselves that question more often. At least amateur ones (who, incidentally, are the designers I've i...
