I don't think I could fully recall the hardest salad I've ever played, but I do have two gaming accomplishments I'm quite proud of: 1. I finished Battletoads after a month and a half of obsessive gaming (I blame my current less-than-optimal eyesight from having to strain my eyes on the screen so int...

Be sure to leave an In Depth Analysis of the Sky Flyers comics so I know whether I should keep including them or if everyone here is awful, thanks bros. I was both mesmerized and confused by this comic. I can't say I understood what was going on, but I'm pretty sure I want to see more of them. You ...

HS is posted on this forum. In it, is a VERY long recap of a thread that appears in the same forum that HS does. This seems incredibly redundant. Why not, you know, just supply a link to the thread and call it a day. I mean, play-by-play and analysis are great for sports... but for internet forums?...

Actually, instead of dithering, might I suggest you convert the mast into an outline with maybe a few curving lines coming off the edge to show the roundness of the mast? That way the hero doesn't have to look washed out when he walks behind it.

Great job with the drawing.

Okay, I'll give this my best shot. There were only a few that had my interest this year and the rest I played this weekend. There are many more I didn't play, mainly because they got low enough ratings that playing them didn't make much sense to me. Best Game of 2011: The overall best games. Vote fo...

Not to hijack the thread or anything, but since the Motrya Design Journal thread is locked, I may as well say it here: Why bother ending the project, or abandoning it, or doing the things that too many OHR designers do that gives our community such a bad reputation for unfinished projects when it ju...

This posting is nearly a decade old, but it's still quite relevant. It exceeds the need for Slime Salad's reviews, but I still think it offers great overall advice.

There are several links within the post that are worth checking out.

So, just to clarify, we can start a game now, and when the contest thread pops up, we can submit it? Yep!* Be aware that the 2012 Heart of the OHR Contest will be slightly different than the 2010 contest. Not enough to shake things up or make everyone panic, of course, but just enough that you may ...

There was once a thread started long ago that had the intended purpose of naming creatures when the author couldn't think of a good one for himself. The mirrored thread on Castle Paradox had more hits than the one on Slime Salad, but it's a shame that neither was ever really used much. That's what w...

I'm gonna keep this breakdown a little shorter than usual since I'll be doing a review blitz on this contest for HamsterSpeak this month. However, I did want to say how impressed I was with this contest. Even though the numbers seemed small (though, with all the games being made in pairs, the size i...

I'm going to take a moment while I'm here to respond to the Entrepreneur screenshots. They are awesome, and I am amazed that you managed to bring statistical analysis into an OHR game. Information sticklers will have a ball with that, I'm sure. I really admire the effort you put into them. Thanks. ...

I'm completely against this. If you did that you'd basically be deciding the outcome yourself. Well, not exactly. I'd consider condorcet voting if every game had at least 50% voter representation on hand. That's the only way that system is fair and accurate. If any game receives less than 50% voter...

Okay, this process was dreadfully tedious and I now feel blinded by all the numbness I feel from having gone back and forth retabulating votes that I haven't looked at in over a year. But for your amusement, here is the original rank (by averages) compared to the recompiled condorcet version. I have...

Okay, that does make a lot more sense with the examples. Thanks, Mogri. I'll weigh the options when we get closer to the window. What I might do is compare the original contest's rankings as they were tabulated through averages with the condorcet way of ranking and see how differently the list might...

About the votes question: I'm happy with the way the voting system worked in Heart of the OHR 2010. Yes, there was one major flaw that bubbled to the surface in that system that I have plans to iron out for the 2012 contest. Two rereleased games, Vikings of Midgard and Do You Want to Be a Hero? , mi...
