Yeah, "else" should've been my go-to on that script. Sorry about that. The problem with scripts interfering with your animation is an easy fix. I have global variables attached to mine to regulate what should happen and where. So, for example, if you're climbing a vertical pipe, and you ne...

Fortunately, TMC said that he hasn't finished the zones feature and still has a few more things to add, including script triggers upon entering and exiting zones. Maybe he can figure out a way to code moveable zones that can attach to an NPC or a slice (or a hero). Oh, and I have two Hamsterspeak ar...

You can actually simplify your code further by writing an each-step script that checks for zones and changes your sprite (and sound effects) according to zone. So, the ladders could be Zone 1, horizontal pipes could be Zone 2, and vertical pipes could be Zone 3: script,Map Animations and Sounds,begi...

So, it's been a week. Anyone get a chance to play this yet? If so, how far have you gotten? What money-making strategies have you employed, and how has that affected your virtual wallet? Have any of you gotten one of the endings yet?

I appreciate your feedback.

No, it wouldn't be fair to count it. I've put four years' more work into it than the other authors put into their games. Plus, the majority of the work I did during the contest window was for scripting only. My new graphics in the last month are limited to two of the event NPCs. If the 8-bit contest...

I'm curious to know if the town has a closed economy -- that is, no money ever leaves or enters the system. I'm guessing it doesn't, since that would require you to track each citizen's bank account and tie everyone to a specific place of employment, but it'd be interesting if that were the case. Y...

Official Release Announcement (Entrepreneur V1.2)

For those of you who missed it in last night's post to "Entrepreneur Central," the latest update for Entrepreneur: The Beginning is now online, just in time for the end of the 8-bit contest (though, this is not an entry, so don't count it as one). Download the game here: http://www.slimesa...

Just wanted to remind everyone who has played and reviewed this game that I appreciate the comments, the feedback, the praise, and the bribes (ahem), and that I've listened and responded to the issues you had with the game. I'm confident that the newest update (version 1.2) has a much stronger deliv...

I know this review is well over four years old. I just wanted to pipe in and say that I've listened to everyone who's reviewed this game and addressed their concerns. Not knowing what to do has received the greatest complaints, so I made sure to add a full day's tutorial for anyone who needs it (don...

Just for everyone's information (assuming you don't already know), the developer is assuring players that the update is coming before October 1st. I don't know what that means for our planning, but I suppose it means that we could definitely get a new game started on October 1st. Maybe before. This ...

Looks much better than the system you originally had in the game. On those action bars, I get that green symbolizes the action points the character has left for that turn, but what's red and blue? HP and MP I'm assuming? I think this is really polished looking, and should make the game more interest...
