Topic: Can game music BPM be time synced with game ticks?

Years ago I had written two cutscenes for Powerstick Man that required game ticks to match with the beat of the MIDI song for every play. Because the speed of a tick is dependent on the speed of the computer, this had the potential (and likelihood) of screwing up the sync for many players, even if i...

Here's what I think about t4r4d1ddl3, and ramble planet too. The developers have shown no interest in entering the contest so I feel like both cases are moot. Now I'm sure we could debate what makes an rpg an rpg in extreme detail. For example, is the new game Destiny an rpg? Is Zelda an RPG? Is Po...

Wow, I have to disagree. I thought that t4r4d1ddl3 is exactly the type of game this contest was meant to bring about: one that uses the engine the way it was designed to be used. I would say that t4r4d1ddl3 definitely does that, as you don't have to use every feature of the engine (in this case, ba...

And what about eligible games which haven't been explicitly entered in the contest? t4r4d1ddl3 is such a game. Definitely meets the length requirement. Very nice. The thing with t4r4d1ddl3 is that it's an awesome journey game with great dialogue and the perfect design for the Heart of the OHR, but ...

It might be a good idea to loosen the rules and allow initial entries between the 1st and 15th of December rather than just bugfixes? Yeah, my last few posts have been subtly implying this. For those who need me to shout it: You can turn your games in as late as December 14 and still be eligible fo...

To add some incentive to the prize, if it's alright by Pepsi, let's put one of the Mouse Pads we're working on up in the prize pot? All places get one, courtesy of Red Triangle Games. So hey, if there's 3 entrants, then everyone wins a $10 dollar value prize. Thanks. I've updated the original post ...

Anyways, best of luck to the other entrants. Who else is still in this? Well, for those who drop out, I hope you'll find some time to work on your games eventually. Maybe you'll have something for the 2016 contest. I should remind you guys that November 30 is the release deadline to be eligible for...

I see. If you're making this a one-game-fits-all-platforms project, then what you have will work just fine. But if you consider releasing a "PC Version" at some point, you may want to consider these suggestions. I think it would improve the UI and make the effort to create a song more wort...

I'm no expert on battles, but does Queentext have HP? If you left it at zero, I think it'll kill itself as it spawns. Make sure it has at least 1 HP, and then implement a self-killing attack that takes away 1 HP (but doesn't show damage). Not sure if that's the problem, but that's the first thing I ...

Soda_piggy, That looks really simple, and I applaud your work on it. Awesome job. Suggestions: Implement SHIFT+direction as a means to scroll through whole pages so we don't have to go through every note just to get back to page 3. Likewise, CTRL+direction, or a selection for first/last should take ...

So when do you plan to show us how to make a song? It looks really awesome, and I think it'll be really interesting to try, but I still wanna know what those numbers in the boxes are for.

Just thought I'd post a quick update on what I've been working on since the last post. First off, I should mention that, as of today, I now have an official checklist for not only adding new items for purchase (which I wrote way back on February 13, 2012), but also one for adding new shops. This has...

Regarding the first part of this thread about commas, and grammar in general, my coworkers and I often refer students to this handy link for all types of writing and grammar tips: https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/ Best part is that it has a section for second language learners, so it covers the ba...

And this is gonna be in Mr. Triangle's Mediocre Adventure???

This might be the coolest mini-game since Lyte Snap.

And when I say the coolest since Lyte Snap, what I really mean is the coolest mini-game ever.

Good job, guys.

If I play anything, it'll have to be in the evenings. After 9pm sounds good.
