Please finish this one. This is the kind of game I wish we had more of.

I'm wondering if you're overlapping zones and if the engine is trying to decide which one to designate as source for the sound effect. I don't think you can double-trigger the same sound effect in the OHR, and the only thing that makes sense to me is that you're somehow trying to double-trigger them...

Hmm, I'm looking at the script, but I can't see why the others wouldn't play. You're sure you have the other zones defined? Have you included at least 4 spots on "fixed sound range"?

The scripts that compare sounds are there to turn off any sound that shouldn't be playing within the hero's current position. One of those scripts is meant to stop the sound as soon as the map changes. Where the script could fail is if the previous map's sound becomes the stored sound on the new map...

@Pepsi Ranger: I suspect my wife isn't going to let me bring a pet moose into the house. But I'll keep on lobbying. I'm always happy to share any California stuff I know, but I am sure it will all go obsolete as soon as the state is split into 3 and the whole place devolves into a Mad-Max-esque pos...

Ah, now we can finally have a moose hero as part of the Hamster Republic. That would make a great addition. Congrats and good luck on the move (and the new job/career). Sorry you have to change your winter temperatures so drastically now, but I hear Toronto is a nice place more than I hear Los Angel...

Sure thing. I made one slight change to the script called "sound range" to account for tag variables getting cleaned between steps. Because I had added that tag off/tag on feature last-minute, I'd forgotten to include the reset versions, which would've been a disaster if you turned off a t...

Hey Guys, I've updated the "Some Useful Functions" thread with a new version of my "Scenery Sounds" script, which I've tailored in such a way that anyone could use for any OHRRPGCE project. I'm posting the link here for your convenience. If you want to add a new dimension of soun...

Got a new one for all'a yous. For years, I've been using a clunky sound distribution hub for my games called "Scenery Sounds." In its heyday, this script would seek out maps and coordinate ranges and sometimes specific tiles that it might find the player standing in or on and play a corres...

Not sure if this is a feature or bugfix, but we need to have delete tools for zones that work on box, paint, layer paint, etc. As of now, zone erasure works only on "draw" mode.

My game (working title: Viridian Dreams) will be more of a Strategy game than an RPG. Will it count as a Strategy-RPG? I'd like to think so. On one hand, there won't be any traditional "gain experience to earn levels and increase your stats" mechanic, and you won't be rewarded immediately...

I want to also remind players that officially released versions will be the most recent at the time of the contest's closing, unless otherwise stated by the author (which might be the case if an update is worse than the earlier version). I would also recommend that anyone who is sure to have a "...

Same bar increases as zelda yes. Tim-Tim 1 even used hearts as the bar. That settles it then. You're in. Cue the RPG purists storming the castle. I had assumed you'd played the first Tim-Tim game... Sad I think I had, but a long, long time ago, and my memory is pretty poor these days. I'll have to ...

I present my argument in screenshot form. I'm still a bit hesitant on this one. BUT, Rygar NES is a side-scrolling RPG that works really well as an RPG, and happens to be one of my favorites of the day, AND I can be swayed pretty easily with the inclusion of various growth stats like: defeated blob...

I plan on entering it. It fits the new fangled rules as far as I can tell. It's for sure a heart ohr game. I mean, I got the npcs. Also, Spoonweaver is entering with Tim-Tim? Will Pepsi Ranger allow it? Sigh, there's always one that challenges the rules. I'd actually love for Tim-Tim to make the cu...
