Finally started up some scripts for this thing. Got the introduction and the basis for skill learning established. Sound effects! Usually find these a hassle to do because I end up clicking at the SFXR sound types at random, waiting for a good one to appear. I usually don't get what I need, but plen...

On the goons of map 1 http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/6163/goonfight.png Every villain's got goons and this games' got the Saphoo. Birthed from the ground, these little critters are weak to pretty much everything. The idea behind them is that they're like Tolkein's Orcs, only these are made of Pikm...

I'd recommend loading the sprite once and then using the if/thens to simply change the image through 'replace medium enemy sprite (handle, num, palette)' So that you have something like: livesbar:= load medium enemy sprite (0) #Can be anything. Preferably something invisible ...

On the battle system, Borrows from that of Surlaw: Armageddon , in that standard attacks are the fuel for skills. Differs in that it's much messier and each attack fuels another. So far, the HERO's STANDARD ATTACK drives SKILL 1, which then fuels SKILL 2 in combination with STANDARD ATTACK. Once I t...

http://img251.imageshack.us/img251/8694/rooo.png I sprite'd up my three heroes and they are looking good. Threw together a little dungeon (it's one of the few map-types I know) to start the story off with some charming NPC's (screen-shots pending). Engine got a big update and I've been meaning to m...

Of course you wouldn't leave it entirely to Google to translate it. I was thinking that after getting the words roughly translated, you can send the new file to an english-speaker who could move the words around to make them gramatically correct. However, getting an actual translator would definitel...

I seem to recall a recent feature that lets you import/export textboxes into a .txt file or something.

Perhaps this could be plugged into some sort of translation software for a rough version? (Only Google Translator comes to mind at the moment).

I think the main reason why some of us have trouble drawing human figures is that how they look is already set, as opposed to drawing non-humans where there is no definite form. Now you're just running from the problem. http://img509.imageshack.us/img509/4079/magusfront.gif http://img97.imageshack....

Try not to make pixel art for the sake of making pixel art. It's wonderful when you have an idea as to what you're trying to draw. Having this vision greatly improves anatomy, posing, etc. That's why it's a good idea to also practice drawing in other mediums (notebook sketches). Once you develop som...

1. Whoever goes first gets the lion's share of the work, because he has to create the whole framework for the game, whereas everyone else just adds. The first chapter were done by the host (me) and then the random selection started. 2. One person getting creator's block hold up the whole project Fo...

You've got my interest, but it really depends on when you're planning to do this.

Summer/Winter breaks are best, because everybody is usually available and flexible with their times.
...In between is going to be a bit tougher.
