You'd do better coming up with lots of different and unique enemies than you would just focusing on a single battle. I like this solution, it adds variety to the game and keeps the player on his toes. The only problem with it though, is actually designing all those unique enemies (without just doin...

It's actually a problem I've seen in professionally made games as well. In Tales of Phantasia, FF VI, and Chrono Trigger, I remember that in some areas it was possible to just hold down a turbo button (emulator) and a speed-up button to get through battles. Come to think of it, there were more battl...

You could give the Dr. Brain games or perhaps 7th Guest a go for inspiration. But the puzzles in those game might not be quite what you're looking for, and I'm guessing that they would require some really heavy scripting.

Just how puzzling should the puzzles be?

That looks cool! if there was a Linux version I would already be downloading it :) Well, you could always muck about with Wine, but that's hardly an ideal solution in my experience :v: And aye, it does look most interesting. I might give it a shot. Fingers crossed Wine can get it going flawlessly.

You're an old man, Fenrir! ... Wait, I was also messing around with the OHR 13 years ago... Crikey, I'm also an old man! Hehe, but in all seriousness, Fenrir's right, never be afraid to think you can't get any better. Hmm, now I'm tempted to dig through my old files to show off just how terrible I w...

Nope, I've been drawing some stuff over the past few days. I'll post them in one big post rather than a bunch of smaller ones though. It'll make organizing easier I believe.

Perhaps the format you're uploading? I had a similar problem when uploading OGVs that I'd done in Kdenlive. I tried rendering the final video as an MP4 instead and didn't have any problems.

It looks funky on my screen as well. Tried it on Linux and then booted up into XP and it looks the same.

Hehe, would make for a really sweet looking music video with some trippy music though.

I generally make one with a few basic shades myself and then add more colors and shades as I go as I need them. It's probably not the smartest way to do things, but it's worked so far. I actually did pretty much the same thing with Legacy. I started out with 24 colors I think, and then added or dis...

Just some crazy-talk here, this isn't a promise of a new feature; but what if we had a sprite database website, and when you were in custom, and you exported a sprite-set, you had an option that would automatically upload it to the sprite website? custom already knows how to use the wget tool to do...

Oh, well wow, that is extremely impressive. I've been trying to figure out how to do a battle system like that for a while now, though I gave up on it as being beyond my current skillset, hehe. Looking forward to more of this then!

Please forgive the newbie question, but, what exactly is Phantom Tactics? I gather that it's an old project of some renown, but beyond that, I don't really know much of it.

I have found a few, but their licences were ambiguous. And the sprites were often (as aforementioned) a mix of original and ripped commercial ones, so they're ambiguous in their legality at best.
