I second Lubuntu. I'd also recommend Xubuntu, which is pretty much the same thing, but with XFCE instead of LXDE. They're both for lower spec machines (LXDE more so), so you'd prolly have luck with either of them. I'd suggest you go for Xubuntu if you want a little bit more snaz without taking too b...

From what I recall of N++, there's a GUI option to just plug in commands and stuff and then set the highlight or color or whatever for said commands. It'd be tedious, but certainly not difficult, to just manually go through the plotscript dictionary and add them one by one if you really want to. As ...

How long does this process take, on average? Typically, anywhere from 15-25 minutes, not including render time, stock-hunting time, or photographing time. This guy here took me 20 minutes exactly. http://i1171.photobucket.com/albums/r552/ld2i/tedor_zps9aa4091b.png Of course, some really complex guy...

Legacy portraits (step-by-step)
BMR's Legacy Portraits, Step-by-Step So, I've decided to do a step-by-step for the portraits I've done for Legacy. Like my other step-by-steps, this is not a be-all end-all to how to do graphics. Rather, it's just hte way that I do them, and as previously, I offer this as one look into how one arti...

Yeah, I signed up for the pixel-art book. And as for time-consuming, strangely enough, I find it more time consuming to start from scratch (at 64×80, that is) as at the stage, I'd have to first set down the flats, add in the shadows and highlights, stick features in, render, etc... With this method,...

You could do what I do, have a little walkabout sprite with the NPC's name. It'll never show up anyway, so might as well use it to help you keep track of who's where. http://i1171.photobucket.com/albums/r552/ld2i/Legacy%20Devblog/walktallnpcs_zps8a1e84a5.png I ran into that problem as well when I st...
