And perhaps with an option to turn it off for people who do find it seizure-inducing.

I second this!

As for my vote:

1. Ape/Giraffe by RMZ
2. Narwhal/Elephant by SodaPiggy
3. Cat/Narwhal by Bob the Hamster
4. Squid/Narwhal by FnrrfYgmSchnish
5. Walrus/Turtle by TacoBot

I believe that set slice visible is the command you're looking for. What you'd need to do would be to get the handle of the slice that has the layer you're looking for with <a href="http://hamste...

Some Ubuntu variant would prolly be the easiest if you're looking for something easy to transition to. Or you could go with Debian.

As for "flavors", personally, I'd recommend going with XFCE over Gnome or anything else, but that's mostly because I'm an XFCE fanboy, hehe.

If you've got a relatively small amount of items, then you could store prices in globals and create a buy/sell menu for them. Here's an example of how I went about it in the collab game that Feenicks and I did: plotscript, trade, begin open menu(2) end plotscript, prime buy, begin va...

Hmm, now that I look through the forums, I'm going to have to retract my opinion that there should be a new subforum. There are indeed far too few throughout the forum (of course, I could have missed some) to warrant an entire new subforum. I would however, support a stickied post in the Games forum...

Do I have to put the slice I want to use in the slice collection first? Or can it take the images from the graphics menu? You don't need to use the slice collection editor. It makes certain things easier, and a lot of folks prefer using it over scripting everything. I've never used it for anything ...

Not really sure if it's my thing, but it certainly is cool. Out of curiosity, how's that work anyway? Lots of electrical rewiring and stuff, I'm guessing. Though I could be completely off =p

It'd be interesting, yeah. I know where my articles are, so it wouldn't be too much trouble for me to hunt them down and move them if need be. Also, I agree that it would indeed be useful to new users trying to figure things out. Frequently sough-after stuff like larger sprites (Bob's walktall thing...

There were a few games that did the morality thing interestingly. U4 comes to mind, but that's less good vs evil and more just being a good guy to become the Avatar I suppose. Still, it was rather interesting. Though of course, by the time it came to U7, my avatar was pretty much insane enough that ...
