Wow, good catch. The game I meant to refer to was "War of the Elements", which is another game made by Locke. You can find the game here: http://www.angelfire.com/scifi/jm11/games/War_of_the_Elements.zip Surlaw, can you fix that in the magazine for me when you have a chance? Sorry about t...

I really liked this issue, especially SD Hawk's review of The Omega, I couldn't believe that this one is so unheard of. I downloaded it when I first joined the OHR community almost 3 years ago now and took it as one of my bigger inspirations. You must play this game at least once, and play the bund...

Meatballsub's review of Nordomin: Quest of Creole mentions another game called Magic Force with selectable classes. I downloaded this a minute ago to take a look at it. There don't seem to be any selectable classes and the game seems bugged so that you can't progress once you get in the airship (5 ...

Yeah, it's not the most ideal way of doing things, but it works nonetheless. I have a terrible time doing battle backdrops any other way though. :gonk:

Re: Backgrounds

Also, is it possible to have a background editor in the graphics menu of custom? Or would that be ridiculous since it could technically take up custom's entire screen? Technically it already has this feature, though it may not work as well as you would hope. It's actually what I use to make battle ...

I've just commissioned Nigel "Jabbercat" McBride to do the entire soundtrack (thanks for the suggestion, James!), so the pieces above are no longer needed. Since I will be making quite a few updates to this game, I've decided to make this thread a development journal for it. Over the past ...

I look at this and can't help but think prehistoric Earthbound. Maybe it's how the bison looks that makes me think that.

Either way, I really like the style and looking forward to more on your project.

1. Walthros - Overall, one of the best OHR games I've ever played. Enjoyed it from start to finish. But where is the freaking remake?? 2. Spellshard: Black Crown of Horgoth - Incredibly sexy 8-bit graphics and classic, old-school JRPG gaming at its best. 3. Vikings of Midgard - A very solid game ove...

Thanks for the heads up on those issues and it's funny you mention that section being a bit rushed.

Sadly it was and it shows, which is why Id really like to make some changes to it now. In addition I'm really unhappy with the sprite of the big boss right before that whole ending section .

Glad you mentioned that. I actually prefer MIDI over mp3 for OHRRPGCE games. So yeah, this stuff needs to be in MIDI format for sure.

Macabre

Hey guys, It's been a long time since I've actually done any game making. Seeing a Livestream of SDHawk playing through The Omega inspired me to start working on stuff again. I have a few ideas in the works for future titles but there's two things I want to do before I start anything new. I'd like t...

I've been thinking about this a lot recently and have decided to throw out the idea. I'd really appreciate someone taking a second look at The Omega. The only person that has reviewed it is OOIA and he played pretty much all of the versions up to the completed one. It would be nice to have someone t...
