Awesome. Was keen to hear how it went. Still feels crazy to see an OHRRPGCE game presented that professionally. Hope it was fun, not just hectic. Also, I love the backdrop and sprites in that first screenshot you posted. Well, Thanksgiving is not that far away! How long have you been working on the ...

Gasp! I forgot to mark my calender! Wow... the game doesn't start at all the way I expected. Very cinematic. Well, it's 2am, but I had to play through the intro. This is great. Though I like the dig site even better, tone- and graphics-wise. Especially those NPCs, the NPCs are totally going to make ...

Oh, I'm very good at working on the wrong thing! That looks nice... a tactical RPG? Ambitious! If you want arrays, see Scripts:Fake_arrays and especially Scripts:Slice_arrays Normally I wouldn't make this suggestion, but since you have already compiled HSpeak yourself and seem competent enough... I ...

Thanks, now I understand and can fix that. But env.Command doesn't take a fourth argument. The 'sources' for a build Node (which is usually a produced file, like 'hspeak.exe', but in general are just nodes in the dependency graph) are normally used as input by the build action to build that Node/fil...

What bugs... the ones that were holding up the Android port, or ones affecting Alien Squatter? Did you ever hear back about the "RELOAD.SERIALIZBIN: null doc" one? I don't remember it. Also, we still haven't made any improvements to avoid weird errors due to running out of storage space (o...

This is a fufluns "[EUC, 'hspeak.exw', 'hsspiffy.e']" is a list of sources (dependencies). It says that hspeak needs to be rebuilt if the euc (Euphoria to C) compiler or the hspeak source code changes. What problem were you getting with it? It probably was nothing to do with Python 3. I a...

Cake is always good.
So how about World Cake Day? Unfortunately I found four different dates which were claimed as World/International/National Cake Day. I think we'll just have to resign to celebrating National/Inernational TMC/Cake Appreciation Day whenever we feel like it's time for cake.

Thanks! The compile errors were due to a problem in reloadbasic.py. It produces (for example) build/moresubs.rbas.bas. But the .rbas.bas files it produced contained two copies of the source, concatenated! (Note that the line numbers refer to the .rbas file, not the .rbas.bas file, due to #line direc...

I've completely removed the libncurses dependency. I'd like to hear from anyone that had a problem before whether the official nightly builds now run on their system. Especially old Linux systems, which haven't been tested at all. http://hamsterrepublic.com/ohrrpgce/nightly/ohrrpgce-linux-wip-x86.ta...

Huh. I was also able to reproduce this previously so I tested again with ohrrpgce-custom.apk (32 bit), and bumping AppVersionCode worked for me too! I/SDL (19085): libSDL: Settings.Load(): loaded settings successfully I/SDL (19085&#...

I notice that the nightly-android.sh calls "./build.sh" while makeapk.sh calls "./build.sh release". However I just tried running "./build.sh release" (which I normally don't do), and it works fine for me (arm64 build). Your errors look the same as the errors you've pos...

I think you're looking in the wrong directory. And I'm pretty sure that file has always been used and required. I just checked and see in the log: I/SDL (15162): libSDL: loading lib /data/data/com.hamsterrepublic.ohrrpgce.game/files/../lib/libsdl-1.2.so ... I/SDL &...

You're in luck! In fufluns (since a month ago) there's a new setting to do exactly that, in the General Game Settings menu.

It affects all walkabouts and also NPCs/heroes set to walk in place. Hopefully in the next version it will be replaced with settings for more fine-grained control.

However... which way will the OHR go? Are there any major features in your mind that will not make it to the old systems? Ultra-Quadcore-4K-Multi-Hyper-Threading? Why is all this even compatible? You said once, that you optimise the code for every system. But how much is down to Freebasic there? Do...

Wikipedia lists a couple theories for the origin of the name of the town of Gorgonzola. One theory holds that the town is named after Concordia, Roman goddess of agreement in marriage and society.
