Yeah, though it's a little bit less active now that JSH has abandoned it. Still leaves about a dozen people who chat in there occasionally. #castleparadox has had a surprise revival though (with the same dozen people...).

Hi Minnek, nice to hear from you again. Newbie Power told me long ago that he was going to be paid to draw some of the 'starter kit' art for this contest (which the artists entering the actual contest would imitate in style). But last time I checked, the LPC hadn't started yet. So I'll go add it as ...

Hi. Well Spoonweaver's script isn't too useful directly; rather it's meant as an example of several of the commands you will need. There are various numbers in the script, but if you just leave them all alone, draw a bunch of medium enemy sprites, and import the script and set it as the 'new game' s...

Re: If I may speak against youtube...

I'm afraid I can't tell what you're talking about. I think it might be encoded in that image you posted, which isn't loading no matter how often I refresh. Lately I notice that imgur is extremely slow. Too bad it can't handle one thousandth the traffic of Youtube, which does such a great job hosting...

Simply swap the hero out of the part before calling pickhero. You can check if they are dead with "get hero stat(slot, stat:hp, current stat) <= 0"

If you have duplicated heroes, then this is much more complex and the code below won't work. Many of the party manipulation commands don't handle that correctly and will need to be avoided. Step one: 'hero by slot'. Returns -1 if there is none. h0 := hero by slot(0) h1 &#...

I liked your XCOM:EU review, though I would have liked more elaboration for the claim "While Enemy Unknown and the original X-COM: UFO Defense are at their core the same game, there are enough differences to enjoy them both on different levels". Seems like every other week that I'm reminde...

I didn't know that the each-step script happens before the new-game script. That's pretty awful. I haven't made any changes to trigger order for compatibility, though I will consider adding a general pref bitset to switch to a saner scheme. To add to the confusion, zone trigger options will add per-...

Ah. That's not Windows 7 specific, happens on XP too (though I only found out a couple days ago that some MIDIs cause it to crash immediately).

Re: It's time for the Windows 8 compatibility test

Windows 8 is out, and with each new OS, OHR compatibility issues come up. Windows 7 is still having some unresolved compatibility problems You mean OHR compatibility problems on Windows 7? I can't remember there being any. There was one Vista-specific problem (which was apparently a problem in Vist...

If you think it's okay to rip other people's artistic expressions in the name of "quality," then it is you who has an intriguing mentality. Basically, anyone arguing the fact is just rationalizing ripping content for their projects. Both of you (especially 8bit who shouldn't be so aggress...

Yes, use zones instead of harm tiles. Zones are the natural replacement for harm tiles. I was even thinking of replacing (translating) harm tiles to zones.

Well, I guess BMR has covered it already.

Woz and I have actually built a nether rail leading most of the way to furtherest away point on the server (the spot near the Mighty Mooshroom Kingdom). Like all speculative portals built in the nether, it comes out under an ocean. 1 - not going to find really any valuable minerals without going all...
