Interesting, CP was receiving exactly the same types of spam account registrations, also starting in early November.

Spam bots which register an account but never post, or at least not for a long time, actually seem to be the norm.

It looks like I spoke too soon. In the last month a few spambot accounts have been registered on CP, though none have posted yet. It took a year for them to defeat the captcha, because if you take a cursory glance around the site it's actually not immediately obvious what the answer is (everyone use...

I suggest changing the captcha. Once someone stores an answer to a static captcha in a database somewhere, it's broken. CastleParadox used to get a lot of spam bots, and they would just reappear soon after changing the captcha question, but hasn't had a single one since I changed the captcha to one ...

It's simply because more letters won't easily fit on the screen in the items menu. 320 pixels is 40 characters. An 8 character name plus the "x##" count is 11 characters. If the names were 9 characters long then the text on a line would be 36 characters, and you need at least a normal spac...

You can also set it as the after-battle script on each map.

Note however that it will break if there's more than one copy of the goon in the hero. Actually, that's pretty tricky to handle.

That is the most games I have ever heard of anyone working on at once. How many of those have gotten anywhere? So Game World doesn't take place only in SAMPLE.RPG-land? Wow, that screenshot of "V The XXX Site Virus II: The Backup" shows some serious issues with the dither background and fo...

It's a common mistake; there is actually a FAQ (well, actually it appears this question was removed from the FAQ page, so I put it back):
Why can't I have more than one script at a time?

Also, welcome!

Also, I see that you forgot to put "resume player" at the end of your scripts.

Oh, I quite liked Revenge of the Titans. I think I only got through about 24 levels before I reached the point that I couldn't continue without going back and redoing the previous 4 or so levels better. Because cash and other resources carry over from level to level you can paint yourself into a cor...

Ludum Dare 31 just started

http://ludumdare.com/compo/rules/ Theme: Entire Game on One Screen This caught me by surprise, but the latest Ludum Dare has just started 45 minutes ago. The rules, briefly: -Either enter the main event (the "Compo"): create game alone in 48 hours (pick any 2 days during the 72 hour windo...

Yeah, it's exceedingly buggy if you use the space bar :) I didn't manage to find the easter egg though. You could write "key is pressed(key:space) || key is pressed(key:enter)" but looking at the scripts, that doesn't appear to be to problem at all. I'll take this back to the slimecraft th...

Too bad, I could have ended up collocating labs with Wobbler. You're fine, Urkelbot; you've got some stuff to show. Previous years, we had a rule that to join you had to at least have released a game to prove that you wouldn't be totally helpless. Spoonweaver told me in IRC he wasn't planning on hav...
