"Will one of them actually trigger traps made for adventurers?" Rachelle asks. Knowing that there's traps in here certainly makes her leading the party into this place a non-starter, especially seeing what Rob got caught in.

Rachelle takes out the 10-foot pole she's fortuitously been carrying around and gingerly pokes the door. She had no desire to fall to any trap even she knew this door would probably have. How does a 10-foot pole work, anyway? Do you have to assemble it together or does it just stick way out of your...

Might as well show some progress here:

note: this is most likely not going to be any part of the actual world map

Rachelle, having mostly kept to her (physically new) self for now, pipes up. "Could we at least get some sort of plan for when we inevitably face things on the road? Letting them either catch up to us or running right into them hasn't really worked out well for us." Who knows how the part...

I use GraphicsGale. There's a paid and a free version, but the free version should be perfectly fine for OHR needs.

A lot of what I'd be saying has been said by other people, but to distill my points: Make sure to practice art in general, not just pixel art Don't be afraid to use references; even if you're doing something cartoony or simplistic, it pays to know what the original form of something is before you be...

Dude, cool it on the dithering. The smaller sprites you have there are far too small for that technique to be effective, and the less said about that hot dog bun the better.

Rachelle sighs deeply at her new condition and tries to find a cloak to cover herself with. If any of the armor she had with her is still intact, she'll clean it up, sell it off, and try and find something that can actually fit her new form. Whether or not that pans out, she'll go and look around f...

Might as well link Rachelle's edited sheet as well. Hopefully I changed everything correctly.

Rachelle had a faint vision of a tower in the middle of a forest that stretched to the horizon. She knew she had fallen instantly to a foe that should have been a pushover for the party, but couldn't seem to connect that fact and her current situation. ...before she could even begin to take a stab ...

Export out the tileset, import it back in as a new tileset, and erase the stuff you're not using in each instance.

At least Rachelle died as she lived; oblivious to the danger she put herself into until it was far too late. As for the encounter... It certainly didn't help that we were more or less pushed into it while missing a party member, but yeah, not literally jumping into things probably would've helped us...

We probably should've known better than to approach a pack of dire bears (and I should've known better than to jump headfirst onto one), but...

If there's anything left of Rachelle by the time the party can get back to her safely, go for the silver potion thing.

Rachelle attempts to get out from under the dire bear, seeing as she doesn't have much time to live if she doesn't get herself free. If she does get herself free... she's running to a safe distance, if only so that she can recover and try and find where their last party member has got himself. And ...
