Again, Rachelle slams the clearly distressed mummy with her quarterstaff. Would defeating it break the spell of darkness and let them see again?

Hopefully.

Rachelle, not wanting to risk the pit when there's still so much going on over there [not to mention the whole total darkness thing], swings in the direction of the mummy.

She'll run once she feels there's room to breathe over by the pit, which hopefully should be the case in a few seconds.

Rachelle takes out what she hopes is a sunrod from her bag and activates it. Surely that should provide some way of seeing what's going on, right?

Biting through the pain, Rachelle slammed down on the scarab once again. Maybe she should be concerned with the now-larger mummy in the corner at this point?

Rachelle, seeing the beetle appear, smashes the skeleton that had wandered in front of her, and cleaves the newly-appeared bug.

She hopes the others will come to her aid momentarily; Kalar's survival was less important than her own at this point.

"There's a mummy in here!" Rachelle replies, slamming it with her quarterstaff. If she could just get it to fall into the spike pit...

So wait, lynda's pendant doesn't prevent supernatural abilities from having any effect on the wearer?

Rachelle, emboldened by Rob's song, begins to carefully cross the rope, doing the rope tied around her trick like she did before in case she loses her balance or the manticore does something. Once there, she'll see what's going on in the far room.

Rachelle considers smashing the offending skeleton to pieces, but doesn't go across the abyss just yet. Something seems horribly wrong here, and she'd rather not risk falling in herself if things continue to be wrong.

Rachelle retreats out of the room, then takes out her 10 foot pole and pokes the ceiling of the undead-disabling room from the safety of outside it.

"Do we know if this room is under anything on the surface?" she asks.

Rachelle takes the glasses and has a look around the room. The sword she refuses, as the potential risk of it taking over her seems not to be worth the benefits right now. ...the idea of putting Kalar on a rope and pushing him into the undead-disabling room just to see what happens comes to Rachell...

Rachelle puts down her weapon, eying the reanimated skeletons as she does so. She then asks for the rope. "I want to try going in myself. Seeing as I'm not undead, I should be fine, but if I do start feeling funny I'll run back out. The rope is in case I'm unable to do that," she says, ty...

Rachelle draws her weapon, just in case the skeleton starts attacking them once it gets pulled back out. ...although at this point she could probably just punch one into inanimateness. Still, better safe than sorry. At this point, she also remembers that she's been carrying around some rope in her ...

Rachelle mentions the secret door she found in the room where the beholder was; perhaps that could be a target of their activities tomorrow.

Rachelle puts down the book she had just started reading, wondering where everyone else even is. Maybe she should go down and see if they didn't get destroyed by something else that was left in the ruins. ...or maybe not. She faced a beholder on her own and lived, and that's worth taking a day off ...
