Just a quick status update. I've been pretty busy lately and my work on fixing Tales 2 is progressing a bit slowly. I've rebalanced a couple things, and fixed a couple issues where some NPCs were still walking away from the player while their textbox(es) were displayed. But I'm not sure I found all ...

Okay folks, so I'm just past the 1 hour mark playtesting my own game, and there's a game-breaking bug (prevents you from progressing further), and get this, it's BEFORE the end of what I USED to have. I have no idea how and/or when I could have possibly broken this (it's a simple wallmap thing, mayb...

I was one of the ones pulling for judging games as a whole, because I think RPGs are designed in a way that 'new' content depends deeply on the pre-existing content. New story/enemies/etc may very well depend on story/attacks learned earlier in the game, etc. And it will be too much to ask people to...

@JSH: Thanks for the first impressions! I really do mean to play some of these games, but I don't think I can before I actually test my own and fix the stupid things I forgot at 3:30am last night. I've already found a handful of them... terrible. Yeah, I made this game to take place in a Tolkien-sty...

Whoa, my game claims to have been posted at 6am EST on the dot. That's pretty crazy. I got caught up with some friends this evening and didn't get to do much of what I planned to do, so this is totally untested. But I'm hoping to finally test everything and re-release within a week, certainly before...

Tales Of The New World II (version 2)

My HotOHR entry, an update to Tales 2. Everything beyond the first boss fight is new to this release. EDIT: I nearly forgot to mention - this needs to be played on a nightly version of Game. EDIT2: fixed a gamebreaking bug 12-2; still largely untested EDIT3: fixed a good handful of bugs that could a...

Barring some kind of federal emergency, I should have a new version of Tales 2 up tomorrow night as well. However, it will almost certainly be untested, and so the "real" version is probably a week or two off. Just to make sure this is within the rules, here are the things I plan to add wi...

Hm, I don't think the wand thing, if you guys are right, was entirely clear within the book. Which is okay really, as the whole situation comes off as unprecedented in the Potter world of magic, and that's fine. I'm gonna check out that Mark reading tonight, I think. Sounds entertaining, at least. S...

Sorry to leave you hanging for a bit, haha. I agree with a lot of what you've said. I'm not certain about Draco - I think he's a coward at heart, but not truly thoughtless enough to become like the Dark Lord; more like his father, really. Having to really confront Dumbledore is the real shaking mome...

Oh I'm sorry, I meant to reply to this other bit before Oh, also, I am working on a new website for my games, and was wondering what a good host would be in this day and age? Not sure who here might know. HostGator seems to have the best price-stuff ratio I've found, but I did want to get other opin...

Awesome, I'm really glad someone agrees with me on Grint being the best of the trio. Granted, he's probably got the least asked of him, but he does a great job of it. I don't know what to think of Watson. She has some great moments, but I can see what you mean about over-acting. Plus, like it or not...

Alright, it's on! I agree that minor details aren't usually important to recreate. But in a movie that supplies only half a plot, it's the character interaction that HAS to carry the movie. And the one scene that I thought had the most potential was the one that was, I feel, mishandled. Together wit...

Sorry man if it seems like you keep having to defend yourself. I didn't read the CP thread yet. And very honestly, I am pretty floored at the amount of time and care you guys seem to be putting into this project with an actual deadline. Just taking the time to make all the various 'trailers' you've ...

Screw the haters, I'm here to talk Potter (spoilers)

Okay, so me and a small crew went to go see the new Potter movie the other night. First a disclaimer - I used to be a hater. I had to read the first Potter book for AP English 12 back in high school, and I thought it was a joke. I refused to get into them until this past year, when my cousin had me ...

Very awesome guys. Slipping in the enemy attack animation was pretty cool. As a video, my main complaint is that you let scenes fly by too quickly; I didn't have time to both read the text AND take in the scene. In movie previews, shots can be clipped and shown quickly because the viewer can take in...
