I always like seeing the reviews/retrospectives of really old games. I never really played many OHR games until pretty recently, so I missed a lot of these the first time around (both the good ones and the really awful ones.) Of course, every once and a while there's a few "holy crap, I actuall...

Seems to be something wrong with the main page--when I click on the cover to go to it, the frames on the top and sides work but the middle section that normally has links to everything (with descriptions and such) is just a blank white page. EDIT: Also, Damuru-J's picture on the FYS:AHS preview arti...

Yeah, I wasn't planning on entering Okédoké in any more contests, even if it is still unfinished by the next one. I was just saying that I'm hoping that Okédoké will already be done before HotOHR 2012 happens. I have no problem with "no re-re-released games" being a rule. It does seem kind...

Hmm... I'm probably going to enter something in this. Not sure what yet, but hopefully Okédoké will already be done by the time 2012 rolls around... so most likely something other than Okédoké. Maybe I'll be done working on a 100% version of Puckamon by then. Or some sort of demo release for Fnrrf Y...

Not exactly "stuff from unfinished games" this time... but I recently looked through the enemy graphics in The Kirby Lands again and noticed a couple of small enemies that hadn't updated to their default palettes in the newer version of Custom; they still had palette 0. It turns out that t...

My goal is to make Wandering Hamster 100% mouse-playable by the HotOHR2012 deadline So... Wandering Mouse? I really hope the mouse thing's going to be optional and we'll still be able ot use the keyboard if we want to, though. I've never liked mouse control in games much, especially when it comes t...

$250 is overpriced, yeah... but it doesn't really bother me too much because I'd never buy a video game system at full price anyway. By the time I actually consider buying one, the price will be lower, there'll be a lot more games available, and the games that came out early will be cheaper than the...

"Old awful formula"

Just checked out the most recent nightly (first I've seen with the seems-to-be-complete new element system! If there's no horrible game-destroying bugs, I'll probably upgrade to this one) and noticed the different options for combining weaknesses/resistances. "Old awful formula" seems real...

Yeah, I think I can see what you're talking about. It's that dangly hair's fault (again!)--the way it is now, the right side of her face does look a bit lopsided if you look at it the right way, but if that hair wasn't covering up part of the bottom of her face it wouldn't look like that. I'll proba...

I like your new avatar. Yeah, it's exactly the same as my old avatar... but better. It's actually one of the new portraits for FYS:AHS (and my old avatar was the old one for the same character.) Now that I'm done remaking them, I'll go ahead and post a few as a preview... http://i51.tinypic.com/309...

36 different race/class/sex combinations shouldn't be too awfully hard to do. Definitely more hero walkabouts/battle sprites than most games would have (probably more than any other OHR game I've seen except Puckamon, actually...), so it'll be a lot of work to draw them all... but not so much that i...

That's been around since at least 2008, if I'm remembering right. Definitely a great feature, though... it always annoyed me to see completely blank spell lists that won't get filled in for a while just hanging around, like when characters have some skill they don't learn until later in the game. ==...

About the dangling hair: I like how it turned out in the left/right-facing sprites, but yeah, it does look a bit funky on the down-facing one. Not much of a surprise there--I've always had a hard time getting that hair to look right on down-facing Bridget sprites. I can't see how moving it more to o...

The new-and-improved walkabouts for FYS:AHS are getting pretty close to being finished (only 4 old walkabouts left to replace!), so I figured I'd post some up here. The old ones were pretty bad, but I think these are probably the best walkabouts I've ever made. What I was going for is a combination ...

Never knew this was possible before, but I just tested this out... and I can't get it to jump to palettes by pushing a number, either. Running it with -gfx sdl didn't seem to make any difference. This is in the December 14th 2010 nightly, by the way; I don't have any more-recent ones on this compute...
