Seems like that's happened to a lot of old games--they were uploaded to some other website (usually a free site hosted by Angelfire or Geocities or something like that) and then when those websites (or their entire hosts in the case of Geocities) went down, they were lost forever. I know several of ...

Hmm... Virginia is probably pretty much the only state I'd actually be able to get to for this kind of thing (well, okay, maybe one of the states right around VA, but they'd be a little more trouble for me to get to.) I've never been to a con of any kind, and I'm not sure if I really like the idea o...

put slice (wagon, 957, 0) I'm guessing this is part of the problem. Slices go by "screen position" rather than "map position" by default, so positioning it at an X value of 957 would mean it'd be waaay off the edge of the screen somewhere. I know it's possible to have a slice at...

I've never actually made one (too heavy on the scripting for me), but they're definitely possible. If you haven't already, you should probably play Bell of Chaos (by James Paige) and Tim-Tim the Mighty Gnome (by Spoonweaver); two very different games, but both good examples of exactly what you can d...

I've run into the "music/palette carryover" bug a lot recently. Seems to be caused by loading one game in a generic game.exe, then quitting that game and loading another one without closing the program first. If you have both Fat Frog: The Movie and Vikings on your computer, you may be abl...

Okay, no more contest entries for me this year. I'm going to focus on working on my "main games" more and try not to get distracted too much; that means the final version of Okédoké--or, at the very least, a credits-less "everything in the game but the ending is done" final playt...

Huh, nobody's nominated any games for the next month yet... Might as well go ahead an nominate a few of the movie-game contest entries. Fat Frog: The Movie, Habla no Ingles, and Monster Lot. (Hopefully some other games get nominated, since it'd be kinda odd to have the contest entries as the only on...

It's even worse in my Village People game. Really? That's odd, I know I remember playing Village People and really liking it. There definitely were some silly puns here and there, but they didn't seem to be really excessive. Maybe it's a "game vs. movie" thing, and they were just so much ...

I was going to wait until the absolute last minute to vote (because I really don't like the whole "public voting" thing; really prefer PM/email voting, or even a poll like the fangame contest), but eh, I finally got around to the last couple of entries I hadn't played so I might as well go...

At the beggining of the older pokemon games, usually in the beginning, you get running shoes from your mom ...you mean the newer Pokémon games, right? The running shoes weren't even introduced until Ruby and Sapphire. Anyway, haven't had a chance to try your game yet; I'm on dial-up and my connecti...

How fast/slow is your computer? I know when I attempted to play OHR games on my dad's old computer (something in the range of 233 mhz processor) everything was horrendously slow. A computer close to that speed (or slower) could definitely cause slowdown like what you mentioned, with the music and so...

Not anymore.

They recently raised the maximum to 999 like most of the other stats. I think it was in one of the nightlies leading up to Zenzizenzic, though it may have been earlier, I'm not entirely sure.

From what I've seen it seems like up/down goes through the possible targets vertically (based on where one of the bottom corners of the sprite is, I'm guessing), which would be why it sometimes jumps over to the enemies when targeting--the first hero is probably higher up on the screen than any of t...

I've used it as a "targeting helper" stat in several games; giving heroes a Counter stat of 0 and enemies a 1 or higher, then setting attacks that target "All" to default to the lowest/highest Counter stat when targeting depending on which group you want it to start out on. This ...

Fat Frog: The Movie (Part 1)

A story about racist mice and bunnies, unlucky mole lumberjacks, creepy psychopathic foxes that dress up as giant mice, and one abnormally large frog with powers borrowed from Dragonball Z. Fat Frog: The Movie was originally released as part of the 2011 OHR Film Festival contest, and is the first &q...
