While testing out the earlier chapters of the game to catch any bugs I may have missed, I stumbled across an engine bug. Equip menu does weird things when you try to equip an item that would raise your stats above stat caps now... http://i518.photobucket.com/albums/u343/FnrrfYgmSchnish/Okedoke/Magic...

Working on Okédoké again--and seriously this time, I'm not going to get distracted by new contest entries or abandon it for a few months due to school (my schedule this year has plenty of days where I've got little or no school work to do, and this is my last semester of school probably ever... so y...

I don't think I'll have enough done for my 8-bit game project to actually upload a demo for the contest, but I do plan on finishing it eventually anyway. (...Heart of the OHR 2014? Nah, hopefully it won't take that long! XD) And I did get some work on it done this weekend (mostly adding in enemies t...

Textboxes aren't able to directly affect hero stats as far as I'm aware, so I'm guessing you'd need some scripting to do something like this. Though I think there is a way to make items that permanently increase stats when used outside battle now, without needing scripting. If so, then you might be ...

Finally, the first shreds of a playable demo are starting to come together. Since the deadline's extended, I'm thinking I'll actually be able to get something done in time for this year's 8-bit Contest! http://i518.photobucket.com/albums/u343/FnrrfYgmSchnish/8bit0006_zps52a83b8a.png 'MURICA. Oh hey, they're like the Wall Masters in Zelda! I actually don't think I've seen anyone make something like those in an OHRRPGCE game before. http://i.picasion.com/pic72/0979bf11ecc0541d90806b74893ac75d.gif ...that GIF animates a lot slower than the actual game... but oh well. Slapped together my re...

Well, the Espers in FF6 didn't actually teach you the spell at all until you built up enough points, if I'm remembering right. That would make it a lot easier to deal with (since you'd only have to teach the spell once, when the points for that spell filled up, rather than teaching/deleting spells e...

Some early screenshots from my 8-bit contest attempt for this year (which hopefully will get to a decent-sized demo stage, since I've gotten so much graphics and mapping work done already!) http://i518.photobucket.com/albums/u343/FnrrfYgmSchnish/8bit0000_zps84e24444.png Here's the map. Those commands all do nothing for me, and I'm running Windows XP. Weird. I know they work on Windows XP, the computer I used most often had XP up until a couple years ago when I got my laptop. Oh, just remembered: you have to use the number-pad numbers to get these things to work (...which sucks if...
