I re-read the rules, and it seems that my plan actually doesn't qualify. Although I was planning on drawing new graphics, 100% of my story script is something I wrote like 8 years ago. Oh well. I'll still try to do it, but I guess it won't be a contest entry. You still wrote it though. You're fine....

A stupid rule is a stupid rule. These sorts of techniques are common to the OHR (half your example movies use it) and it is only serving to limit entries in an extremely small community for no good reason. If someone uses it poorly the community can judge that easily enough. If someone uses it well...

Thanks for that Moogle. Yeah, the whole point of this contest is to be original.

Yeah, you're fine. Contest officially starts in less than a week, so it's not the end of the world, like I said. I don't want to discourage anyone from participating at all.

Well I'm not gonna ask people to stop working on a project if they started. I just would like to have the same time line for everyone to keep it fair. I'd hate for someone to get an unfair advantage over someone else. I mean, I'm fine with people doing graphics and story drafting, as "shooting&...

Since other people seem to have kinda started, I don't see any problem with working on the script now and planning it out. I'd really prefer everyone start at the same time so that nobody has an advantage over anyone else in terms of time though. I understand that the writing can be the most importa...

I guess I'm still in Act 3. This area is being fleshed out a little more and will be a place you return to later for more adventures. I'm in the process of wrapping it up altogether so I can advance the story and start Act 4. Thanks for the compliments though Pepsi.

Minigames I think are crossing the line between movie and game. I think if you wanted to mix it up and use something like the viewer chooses a text box option, that would be tolerable, but actual player interactivity like what you're saying would compromise the point of the contest.

Hey RMZ, You should post the other icon. The Slither one is quite cool. Do you have, or are you planning to make others like it? Character decals would make for a great addition to the OHR Paraphernalia store. I'm planning on making at least one more. I was going to save it for Hamster Speak. But I...

Entries don't have to be super long to be submitted. Remember that. This could encourage any/everyone to enter. But we figured we'd announce the contest now to see if there was any buzz. Sounds like it should be a pretty fair turn out.

You don't need a lot of scripting knowledge to do this NinjaOverdrive. Seriously, the House shows were easy to make, just time consuming. I copied JSH's style for the majority of my show, and all it is for a basic show, is a map as small as you can make it, no need for camera panning this way, and t...

OHR FILM FESTIVAL CONTEST

Surlaw and I are hosting together, the first ever OHR Film Festival Contest! Objective: To create more OHR movies! The majority of the ones on our gamelists are either OHR House or spinoffs, and we'd like to see something new by a wider variety of authors. Anyone can write a story, and to make an OH...
